These terms are between you and Jacob Barford, doing business as PFAS Desk, which operates this website and the PFAS Desk service. By using this site you agree to them.
Information on this site
This site summarizes state PFAS product rules to help you understand what may apply to your business. It is general information, not legal advice, and it doesn't create any client or attorney relationship. We are not a law firm. Rules, dates and fees change; each page shows when we last checked them. Check with your attorney before relying on anything here.
The scope checker
The scope checker gives a rough answer based on the product types and options you pick. It doesn't know your actual materials, suppliers or sales, and its recommendation and fee estimate are estimates only. It is provided as is, without any warranty that it is complete, current or right for your products.
Our services
Paid work is governed by a written engagement letter that sets out the services, prices, deadlines and responsibilities. If it conflicts with these terms, the engagement letter controls. In short:
- We prepare and submit reports from information you and your suppliers provide.
- You review and approve the data before anything is filed, and you remain the responsible manufacturer under each state's law.
- You pay government fees directly to each state.
- Our liability is limited to the fees you paid us for the engagement.
Scope Checks
Scope Checks are paid when booked. If you cancel at least 24 hours before the call, we refund in full. The fee is credited toward any filing package you sign within 30 days.
On-time guarantee
If we miss a filing deadline we agreed to in writing, for reasons within our control, we refund our fee for that report. It doesn't apply to delays from missing approvals or information, state system outages or changes in law, and it never covers government fees or penalties.
Content and trademarks
The text, design, tools and logo on this site belong to PFAS Desk. You may share links and quote short passages with credit. Please don't copy the site or its tools wholesale. Statutes, rules and agency materials we link to belong to their publishers. The US map is drawn from US Census boundary data.
Limits on liability for this site
To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren't liable for losses arising from your use of this site or reliance on its general information, including any state penalty or fee. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version, and changes apply from that date. They don't change an engagement letter you've already signed.
