Who we are

This site and the PFAS Desk service are operated by Jacob Barford, doing business as PFAS Desk. Questions about this notice go to hello@pfasdesk.com.

This website

This site uses Vercel Web Analytics to count page views. It doesn't use cookies or advertising trackers and doesn't identify individual visitors. Fonts and images are served from our own site. The scope checker runs entirely in your browser; nothing you pick is sent to us, and the calendar file it offers is created on your device.

When you contact us

When you send the contact form, we store what you entered (name, company, email, website, product types, states and message) and email it to ourselves so we can reply. We also store a one-way hash of your IP address and your browser's user-agent string to limit spam; we can't turn the hash back into your address. We send you one confirmation email.

We use this information only to respond to you and, if you hire us, to do the work. We don't sell it, share it for advertising, or add you to a mailing list. If you don't become a client, we delete your inquiry after two years.

Client and supplier information

Product, supplier and chemical information is kept confidential, stored in access-controlled accounts protected by two-factor authentication, and used only to prepare and submit your filings. Information you ask us to submit to a state becomes part of that state's records, and some of it may be published by the state unless a trade-secret claim is accepted. We keep filing records for at least five years, as Minnesota's rule expects, then delete them unless you ask us to keep them longer.

Service providers

Vercel hosts the site, Neon stores form submissions, and Resend delivers our emails. If you pay us, Stripe processes the payment; we never see your full card number. Each provider handles data on our behalf under its own terms and security practices.

Email from us

If we email you about our services and you'd rather we didn't, reply "no thanks" and we'll stop within 10 business days.

Your requests

You can ask us at any time to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you. Email hello@pfasdesk.com and we'll respond within 30 days. Records we're required to keep for a filing we made on your behalf are kept for the period described above.

Children

This site and service are for businesses. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.

Changes

If we change this notice, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Significant changes that affect how we use information you've already given us will be emailed to you.
